About the Awards
An initiative of the Charity Council, the Charity Transparency Award (CTA) and Charity Governance Awards (CGA) aim to promote good transparency and governance in the charity sector by acknowledging the excellent work of charities, while inspiring others to emulate their best practices. Launched in 2012, the CGA recognises charities that have adopted the highest standards of governance. Given that transparency and good disclosure practices are important aspects of good governance, since 2016, only CTA winners will qualify as entrants for CGA. (More information on the awards can be found here.)
Prison Fellowship Singapore Limited (PFS) is deeply honored to be selected as a recipient of the Charity Transparency Awards 2024. Being recognized with this award for the 3rd year running reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire team and it is a testament to the support of our community and the commitment of our partners and volunteers, whose contributions make our mission possible. Additionally, in 2022, PFS was highly favored to be awarded the Charity Transparency Award and Charity Governance Award. We were only one of three charities out of 2,359 charities to be nationally recognized for the latter award. We are ineligible from applying for the Charity Governance Award until 2026 given our award in 2022.
PFS is deeply honoured to be recognised for our servant leadership role in ministering to the lost, the least and the last in society, while adhering to the highest standards of governance and disclosure as a charity and in 70x7’s case, an IPC.
